My set of skills allow me to offer a range of consulting services to clients, which include the following:

• Conducting feasibility studies to establish a new microfinance bank or institution in a given district or province, or to expand an existing microfinance institution to other districts.


• Evaluating an existing microfinance institution and examine its financial and operational performance; pinpoint areas of weaknesses and strengths and provide recommendations on how to improve its operations.


• Rating an existing microfinance organization, using well-known rating standards such as CAMEL, PEARL, MCP (Philippines), etc.


• Preparing long-term and medium-term Business Plans for new or existing microfinance institutions, which could include both a strategic plan and a detailed operational plan; this will include preparation of detailed operational plans and budget for the operation of a new microfinance bank or organization, including detailed financial products and services, and designing an appropriate microfinance methodology to reach out and deliver those services to the target clientele.


• Designing microfinance apex projects that provide financing and capacity building technical assistance to microfinance retailers on the ground;


• Designing a training program on risk-based SME Lending and conducting the same to develop skills of managers, supervisors, credit analysts and account officers on risk-based banking;


• Assessing and evaluating partnership agreements and arrangements and evaluate whether the agreed upon goals have been met, and provide recommendations on how to improve such partnership programmes.


• Designing basic training courses on microfinance, best practices, concepts, delinquency management, credit manual and policy development and business planning;


• Designing whole academic microfinance courses for college and post-graduate levels;


• Conducting business planning courses for microfinance organizations, design the training materials and cases, and exercises, and provide complete hand-outs to all participants.


• Designing, supervising and/or implementing field research projects that require data collection from the field, that includes formulation of research methods, design of key informant questionnaires, design of survey questonnaires, sampling design, training of enumerators, supervision of enumerators or data collectors, compilation of data, statistical processing of data, and analysis of data.


• Engagements that combine some or all of the above.
