For SEEDFINANCE Corporation, I conducted recently a BRR and FRR seminar for 29 cooperative managers and staff coming from 3 large cooperatives in the Visayas and Mindanao.

BRR/FRR SEMINAR IN CEBU CITY
Participants of the SEEDFINANCE MicroPlus SME Product Orientation Seminar

That BRR seminar was held in Cebu City last February 11 to 14, 2009. The seminar was sponsored by SEEDFINANCE Corporation (a commercial financing company providing TA and wholesale funds to retail microfinance organizations in the Philippines) and was done in connection with the launching by SEEDFINANCE of a new SME loan product called MicroPlus.

I have just finished conducting a series of training seminars for Filipino bankers - coming from commercial banks, rural banks, cooperative banks, development banks and even from a few large cooperatives - about Risk-Based SME Lending . This work was connected with a KFW-funded Project to emhance the capacity of the Small Business Corporation (SBC) and its Partner Financial Institutions (PFIs) in the Philippines. My co-trainer was Mrs Celenita Francisco, a retired seasoned banker. We taught bankers how to use a credit rating system called 'Borrower Risk Rating' (or BRR for short)

As a matter of habit, I collect news clips about microfinance , SME finance and banking in the Philippines.

Carlos Ani Phildevfinance

To share them with others who share the same interest in those topics, I created a special Facebook account where I post opinions and news about microfinance, SME and development banking in the Philippines. It is called "Carlos Ani Phildevfinance". If you are in Facebook, please add me as a friend if you want to get some news about Philippine microfinance, SME and development-banking. I usually send 5 to 8 posts every week. Just click here ==>

I also created two blog websites which serves as online archivesof these news clips, and where you can get all the past news, posts and opinions (in case you missed them). Those 2 blog websites are both named Philippine Development Finance (PDF) and are found here and here .

Some sample articles are listed below:

Go and check any of those 2 sites. As an alternative, you may subscribe to the blog posts through the RSS links there, and you will get regular emails as the sites are updated. A list of sample earlier news articles are listed on the right here. ==>
